SIERRA MORENA ANÁLISIS Y NEGOCIOS SEMANAL

Sierra Morena comarca · No. 2 · Sunday 4 October 2026 · 5-minute read

A 10,904-metre olive grove seeks a bidder in Carboneros and the Baños de la Encina tower deadline is Monday

In the Sierra Morena comarca, the Carboneros plot, with 70 olive trees, awaits bidders until the 13th, and the tower in Baños de la Encina, tendered at 206,656 euros before VAT, stops taking bids once Monday is over. No other of the five municipal contracts under way, worth 1,293,886 euros before VAT together, remains open. Jabalquinto weighs up what companies propose for its pitch and Linares registers a café bar.

An olive grove of 70 trees and 10,904 square metres accepts bidders in Carboneros until 13 October

What can still be done and how long is left
  • Carboneros hosts the one auction across the comarca that bidders can still join. The rural plot in Carboneros is up for a subasta judicial, a public sale ordered by a court, in which anyone can bid, on the Portal de Subastas, the official website of the BOE, Spain's Official State Gazette, where courts and public bodies auction property. It is an olive grove of 70 trees with an area of 10,904 square metres, according to the court notice. Bidding opened on 23 September and ends on 13 October.
  • The auction offering 67.5 built metres ended in Linares on Thursday. The auction of the home in Linares, also a court sale, closed on 1 October. Neither of the two properties has a CasasValue, the value CASAS.ES estimates for every home.

Monday closes the window on the Baños de la Encina tower, tendered at 206,656 euros before VAT

Five contracts and only one takes bids
  • A single day remains to tender for rebuilding Torreón Poblaciones Dávalos. Baños de la Encina town council is keeping open until 5 October the tender for the rebuilding of the Torreón Poblaciones Dávalos tower and the adjoining building, a licitación, that is, a public tender in which companies submit bids, of 206,656 euros sin IVA, in other words, before VAT. It was published on 14 September on the Plataforma de Contratación del Sector Público, the official portal where public bodies publish their tenders, and it is the only works project in the Sierra Morena comarca still looking for a company.
  • Jabalquinto is already examining the bids received for its new pitch. The renewal of the artificial turf at the Jabalquinto municipal football ground, tendered at 297,521 euros before VAT, is the only one of the five contracts that changed stage this week. It moved to the assessment stage, and at this stage the public body is assessing the bids and has not yet chosen a company. The tender had been published on 7 September and stopped taking proposals on the 28th.
  • Linares has yet to decide who refurbishes its cultural building. The bidding period for the refurbishment of the Casa de la Cultura, tendered at 411,863 euros before VAT and paid for from EDIL funds, the European Regional Development Fund grants to local authorities, closed on 30 September. It is the largest of the five contracts by amount and Linares town council has not yet published which company will do the work.
  • The roads of La Carolina and the planning document of Baños de la Encina have a company. The asphalt paving works on municipal roads in La Carolina, tendered at 227,846 euros before VAT, appear as resolved in favour of Tuccitana de Contratas, which means that the tender is over and the contract has been closed. Also resolved is the drafting of the land-use plan and the heritage protection plan of Baños de la Encina, tendered at 150,000 euros before VAT, which entrusted to an architecture practice the document that will say where building will be allowed.

Andalusia's Junta posts fresh grant calls and Linares registers a café bar with 3,000 euros of capital

The news of the week, day by day
  • Storms, youth employment and vocational training students each have an Andalusian call. Three of the calls registered this week by the Junta de Andalucía, the regional government, are these. The Dirección General de Industrias Agroalimentarias, the agri-food industries directorate, issued on 1 October the grants to compensate for the losses caused by the flooding from the storms. The Servicio Andaluz de Empleo, the Junta de Andalucía body that manages employment policy, signed on 30 September its call for grants for people aged 18 to 29. And the Dirección General de Formación Profesional, the vocational training directorate, issued the travel grants for students who did their workplace training, the Formación en Centros de Trabajo, in the 2024/25 school year. A convocatoria, or call, is the notice that opens the window to apply for a grant. Who can apply for each one and until when is set out in its entry in the Base de Datos Nacional de Subvenciones, the National Grants Database.
  • The Diputación de Jaén registers a grant bearing the name of the Linares tournament. The Diputación, the provincial council, which mainly serves small towns, registered on 28 September a grant with the title IV Torneo Internacional Ciudad de Linares.
  • A café bar is incorporated in Linares with 3,000 euros of capital. The BORME of 1 October, the Official Gazette of the Companies Register, where new companies must be published by law, records Café Bar Esencia, a limited company in the hospitality trade that will also organise celebrations and events. Its capital social, or share capital, is the money the partners put in when founding the company, not its turnover. It is the only new company of the week in the Sierra Morena comarca.

Open the CASAS.ES map and explore the buildings of Linares, Bailén or La Carolina

Over the seven days to 3 October, Carboneros kept its auction of an olive grove open and Linares saw its home auction close. Baños de la Encina, which has already commissioned its planning document, is in the final hours of the tower tender, Jabalquinto moved on to assessing the proposals for the synthetic grass of the municipal ground, Linares awaits the decision on its cultural centre and registered a café bar, and La Carolina now knows which company will asphalt its roads. The three calls cited, on storms, youth employment and vocational training, come from Andalusia's Junta. Bailén, Santa Elena, Aldeaquemada and Guarromán recorded neither contracts nor auctions nor new companies to their name.
