The Sierra Morena comarca gathers 1.19 million in municipal works and only 45,000 euros still accept proposals

The Sierra Morena comarca has five municipal works totalling 1,188,886 euros excluding VAT, but only the Carboneros one, 3.8% of the total, accepts proposals, with Monday 19 October as final day. In Baños de la Encina, the tower file appears as settled and the listing names no contractor. In addition, Carboneros has olive land whose bidding finishes on Tuesday 13, two firms are incorporated, in Linares and in Guarromán, and three new grants open to applications are announced.

The tower is 17.4% of the municipal works tendered in the comarca

The tower file has appeared as settled since this week. On 14 September Baños de la Encina town council published the licitación, a public tender in which companies bid to carry out works or a service, for the reconstruction of the Torreón Poblaciones Dávalos and the adjoining building, for 206,656 euros excluding VAT, that is, before taxes. The bidding deadline closed on 5 October. The official listing, updated on 8 October, gives the file as settled and publishes no company name.
The reconstruction has to respect the historic heritage permits. The contract notice on the Plataforma de Contratación, the official portal where public bodies publish their tenders for works and services, requires the works to be carried out in line with the design and with the historic heritage authorisations. By amount it is the fourth of the five municipal works that the Sierra Morena comarca has on that portal.
The same council already has its planning documents commissioned. As context, Baños de la Encina commissioned an architecture practice to draft its Plan Básico de ordenación municipal and its Plan Especial de Protección del Patrimonio Histórico, a service with a tender amount of 150,000 euros. Its listing has not changed since September.

Five municipal works in five different towns

A home refurbishment is the only contract still accepting proposals. Carboneros town council keeps open the repair of a municipal home, tendered for 45,000 euros excluding VAT. Refurbishment firms and installers can submit a bid until Monday 19 October. Of the five works contracts in the Sierra Morena comarca, it is the only one still open to bidders.
Linares and Jabalquinto have 709,384 euros awaiting a company. The refurbishment of the Casa de la Cultura in the city of Linares, paid from EDIL funds, the European Regional Development Fund grants to local bodies to promote their sustainable development, has a budget of 411,863 euros and is the largest works in the comarca. Its deadline closed on 30 September and the listing publishes no company. The renewal of the artificial turf at Jabalquinto's municipal football ground, at 297,521 euros, is en evaluación, meaning the public body is assessing the bids and has not yet chosen a company. Its deadline closed on 28 September.
La Carolina has a published contractor, the only case among the five works. The asphalt paving of municipal roads in La Carolina, tendered for 227,846 euros, already appears with a company in its listing, which has not changed since 15 September.

Just over one hectare of olive grove is still being bid on in Carboneros and two companies and three grants arrive

Five dates with news this week and two deadlines to come

Bidding for the Carboneros olive grove ends on Tuesday 13. The court auction of an olive grove in Carboneros, a subasta judicial, a public sale ordered by a court, remains open to bids on the Portal de Subastas, the official website of the BOE, the Boletín Oficial del Estado, where courts and public bodies auction property. The edicto, the official notice of the auction, describes an olive grove of just over one hectare with seventy olive trees. It is rural land, not a home, and so it carries no CasasValue, the value CASAS.ES estimates for every home. The auction declares four lots and the edicto details only this one. The other three can be consulted in the same linked listing.
Linares gains a vehicle repair business. The BORME, the Official Gazette of the Companies Register, where new companies must be published by law, records on 6 October the incorporation of GARAJE MOTOR LINARES, with 3,000 euros of capital social, the money the partners put in when founding the company, and devoted to the repair and maintenance of motor vehicles.
Guarromán welcomes the larger-capital company, with 5,000 euros. The gazette of 7 October registers in Guarromán DVILA GROUP 2026, a limited company with 5,000 euros of capital. According to the gazette, it will promote, manage and invest in projects of acquisition, promotion, development, refurbishment, regeneration and conservation.
Farmers and students have new calls, and the Diputación de Jaén opens another. The BDNS, the National Grants Database, the public register where every administration announces its grants, recorded this week three notices of convocatoria, the notice that opens the window to apply for a grant, of Andalusian and provincial scope. The Andalusian department of Agriculture opens a call for grants for holders of almond farms. The Diputación de Jaén, the provincial council, opens another call for grants, whose title does not say who it is aimed at. And the department of Vocational Training opens a call for travel grants for students training in workplaces. The register gives no amounts or deadlines in advance, which appear in each linked official listing.
Culture in the villages also has a new resolution. The Agencia Andaluza de Instituciones Culturales registered on 9 October a resolution to promote cultural activity in rural areas of Andalusia. The register does not make clear who it is aimed at.

Between 3 and 10 October there was news in four among the nine municipalities forming the Sierra Morena comarca. In Baños de la Encina the tower file appears as settled, without any contractor being published. Carboneros has the only works accepting proposals plus an olive grove at auction. Linares and Guarromán registered one company apiece. As context, Linares has not published whose job it will be to refurbish its cultural centre, Jabalquinto keeps weighing up the choice of firm for renewing the artificial grass of local football and La Carolina appears with a contractor to asphalt several roads. Aldeaquemada, Bailén and Santa Elena were left without tenders, without bids and without newly created companies. Andalusia's Junta and the Diputación de Jaén sign the three new calls.
