This text is published in several languages. In case of doubt or discrepancy between versions, the English version prevails.

1. In short

CASAS.ES uses a single cookie: the one that keeps you signed in when you use your account. It does not use third-party analytics or advertising cookies or tools: no Google Analytics, no social media pixels, no ads. We do not track you across other websites or build advertising profiles.

We also store information in your browser's storage: partly so the website works and remembers your preferences, and partly to measure how our forms are used during your visit, with an in-house tool. European law treats that storage the same way as cookies, so we explain all of it here.

2. Your session cookie

NamePurposeDuration
casas_sessKeep you signed in to your account. It is only created if you sign in. It is our own cookie, cannot be read by other websites or by the page's code, and is always sent encrypted180 days, or until you sign out

It is essential for using your account: without it you would have to sign in again on every page.

3. What we store in your browser so the website works and remembers your preferences

NamePurposeDuration
casas_uilangRemember the language you choseUntil you delete it
casas_modeRemember whether you prefer light or dark modeUntil you delete it
casas_sndRemember whether you want the website's sounds on or offUntil you delete it
casas_likesRemember the properties you have «liked»Until you delete it
casas_realesRemember the sale prices you have shared, so we don't ask againUntil you delete it
enc_…Remember your answers to «Do you know this area?», linked to the location of the area you ratedUntil you delete it
casas_eras_…Remember which historical aerial photos exist for each municipality, to load them fasterUntil you delete it
casas_signupRemember that you have already registered, so we don't show you the form againUntil you delete it
casas_emailRemember your email after you register, so you don't have to type it againUntil you sign out or delete it
casas_funnel_partKeep the answers of a questionnaire you left half-way, so you can pick it up againUntil you delete it
casas_funnel_dismRemember that you closed a questionnaire, so we don't show it again straight awayUntil you delete it
casas_nl_vistoRemember which areas' weekly publication we have already told you about, so we don't show you the notice againUntil you close the tab
casas_lgbRemember that we have already offered you this website in your browser's language, so we don't show you the notice againUntil you delete it

This information stays in your browser and is not used to track you across other websites. If you use a shared computer, sign out when you finish: that deletes your session and your email from that browser.

4. Measuring how our forms are used

NamePurposeDuration
casas_sidA random identifier that lets us measure how our questionnaires and forms are used during your visit (which steps are completed and where people drop off), in order to improve themUntil you close the tab

We do this measurement ourselves, on our own servers; no third party is involved. The identifier is random, contains no data about you and is deleted when you close the tab, so it does not let us recognise you on another visit. A new one is created when you sign in, register or sign out, so what you did before signing in stays anonymous.

If you have a CASAS.ES account, while you are signed in we link your activity to your account, to improve the service. You can object at any time; we explain how in our privacy policy.

5. Third parties

If you choose «Continue with Google» to sign in, Google may set its own cookies under its cookie policy. If you don't use that option, it is not loaded.

Aerial photos are loaded from the Spanish National Geographic Institute (a Spanish public body) when you open them.

6. How to delete it

You can delete everything CASAS.ES stores in your browser at any time from its settings (in most browsers: Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data → «Cookies and site data»). The website will keep working: it will forget your preferences and, if you were signed in, you will need to sign in again.
