Avilés port holds 77.3 per cent of tendered value and the Raíces chimney gets its contractor
Avilés port concentrates 1,760,655 euros before VAT across four contracts, a 77.3 per cent share by value of the seven in the pipeline in the Avilés comarca, and the chimney at the Playón de Raíces already has a demolition company, EXCADE S.L. Soto del Barco takes bids for Los Veneros until Tuesday 6 October. Avilés city council puts up 20,000 euros in transport grants for people aged over 60.
The company EXCADE S.L. will demolish the old industrial chimney at Raíces, tendered at 50,962 euros before VAT

- The chimney at the Playón de Raíces now has a demolition company. The demolition of the former industrial chimney at the Playón de Raíces is listed as settled with EXCADE S.L., the company chosen to pull it down. Settled (resuelta) means that the tender is over and the contract has been closed. The job went out as a licitación, a public tender, in which companies bid to carry out works or a service, at 50,962 euros before VAT. It was called by the Autoridad Portuaria de Avilés, the public body that runs the Port of Avilés.
- The file was updated 61 days after it was published. The tender was published on 31 July and the Plataforma de Contratación del Sector Público, the official portal where public bodies publish their tenders for works and services, shows it as settled in an update dated 30 September, without saying which day the company was chosen.
- The port intake well has its contractor too. The intake and pumping well at the Port of Avilés, tendered at 87,698 euros before VAT, appears as settled with ARIEXCA S.L.
- The two largest works, 92.1 per cent of port value, remain without a company. The fenders for the commercial quays on the left bank, tendered at 499,384 euros before VAT, and the raising of the bank along the Manuel Ponga promenade, tendered at 1,122,611 euros before VAT, are under assessment, meaning the public body is assessing the bids and has not yet chosen a company. The raising work is worth 22 times the chimney demolition. The four port contracts add up to 1,760,655 euros before VAT, that is, before tax, 77.3 per cent of the seven in the pipeline in the Avilés comarca.
Making Los Veneros water drinkable, in Soto del Barco, tendered at 55,589 euros before VAT, closes to bids this Tuesday 6

- Los Veneros will renew its water treatment and time to bid runs out on Tuesday. Soto del Barco town council is keeping open until 6 October the upgrade of water treatment and health monitoring of the water supply in Los Veneros, tendered at 55,589 euros before VAT. It is the only tender in the Avilés comarca still taking bids.
- La Folleca awaits a contractor to reorganise its traffic. Avilés city council keeps under assessment the reorganisation of traffic and improvement of accessibility in La Folleca, tendered at 357,923 euros before VAT. Bidding closed on 6 July and, 89 days later, the Platform still shows no chosen company.
- Castrillón has now chosen its camera installer. The video surveillance and traffic control system with number plate recognition, tendered at 104,132 euros before VAT, is listed as awarded to PROSEÑAL, S.L.U. The award (adjudicación) is the step in which the public body chooses the company that will do the work.
Avilés city council offers 20,000 euros in transport grants for people aged over 60

- People aged over 60 will get 15 working days to request the transport grant. The BDNS, the National Grants Database, the public register where every administration announces its grants, published on 28 September the call for transport grants for people aged over 60 from Avilés city council. A call (convocatoria) is the notice that opens the window to apply for a grant. It shares out 20,000 euros. The window opens the day after the summary is published in the Boletín Oficial del Principado de Asturias, a date the entry does not give, and ends 15 working days later, the days left once Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays are excluded.
- Castrillón earmarks 11,150 euros for two social organisations. Castrillón town council published on 29 September a subvención nominativa for the sign language interpreters programme, a grant earmarked for a named recipient, which nobody else can apply for, and another earmarked grant for an association of friendship with the Sahrawi people.
- Two regional entries complete the week. The Consejería de Educación, the regional education department, published the call for the Concurso Hispanoamericano de Ortografía, a spelling competition, for the 2026-2027 school year and another regional department registered a participation grant against bullying with no recipient or deadline in the entry.
Two new companies bring together 33,000 euros, more capital than the five of seven days ago

- A vehicle business accounts for 30,000 of the 33,000 euros. A vehicle sales and repair company was founded in the city of Avilés with 30,000 euros of capital social, the money the partners put in when founding the company, not its turnover. It is published in the BORME of 30 September, the Official Gazette of the Companies Register, where new companies, capital changes and closures must be published by law.
- A beauty care firm chooses Castrillón. AVA 2026 SOCIEDAD LIMITADA, a beauty care and beauty treatment company, was published that same day with 3,000 euros of capital, in Castrillón. Neither declares any property or construction activity.
- Three fewer companies than a week ago, with 37.5 per cent more capital. The previous week's BORME recorded five incorporations in the Avilés comarca. This week there are two, but the vehicle company alone is enough for capital to grow.
