Igualada puts 180,000 euros into its 2026 fairs, the second-largest municipal grant across 21 comarcas

The fairs agreement registered by Igualada city council is 4.2 times the ceiling of the 37 municipal grants in the Madrid comarca, and only a sports call from Albacete city council exceeds it. In the Anoia comarca 4 auctions keep their bidding alive and the earliest deadline falls on Thursday 8, the Generalitat offers 200,000 euros until 6 November for the associations of the neighbourhoods whose homes it manages, and one of the 5 new companies is a property business based in Piera.

Igualada registers 180,000 euros for its 2026 fairs and a further 8,000 in two emergency grants

Only one municipal grant is larger than the one for Igualada's fairs
  • The agreement for the 2026 fairs carries 180,000 euros. On Wednesday 30 September Igualada city council entered in the Base de Datos Nacional de Subvenciones, the National Grants Database, the public register where every administration announces its grants, a direct grant of 180,000 euros to organise the fair activities of 2026. Direct means that the money has a recipient fixed by agreement and is not open to applications. For shops and exhibitors, this year's fairs now have a municipal budget in writing.
  • Only one municipal grant exceeds it across 21 comarcas. The town and city councils of the 21 comarcas that CASAS.ES publishes today registered 117 grants with an amount this week, and the one for Igualada's fairs is the second largest. Ahead of it there is only a call from Albacete city council for sports organisations. The highest of the 37 municipal grants in the Madrid comarca is 4.2 times smaller.
  • Two emergency grants head for Africa and the Americas. That same Wednesday saw the registration of the grant for the village of Benga, in Malawi, with 5,000 euros, and the one for the earthquake in Colombia, with 3,000. The three add up to 188,000 euros, and the fairs agreement takes 95.7%.

Montbui, Masquefa and Igualada keep 4 live auctions and the most urgent closes on Thursday 8 October

Seven auctions in five municipalities
  • The garage space auctioned in Santa Margarida de Montbui closes this Thursday 8. It is the first to close of the four court auctions still open to bids, public sales ordered by a court. Bids are placed on the Portal de Subastas, the official website of the BOE, the Boletín Oficial del Estado, Spain's Official State Gazette, on which anyone who registers can bid. The notice does not give the metres of the space. The building dates from 1993 and the median CasasValue of a home there is 139,487 euros. CasasValue is the value CASAS.ES estimates for every home.
  • Two homes close on Tuesday 13 October. In Santa Margarida de Montbui, a 70-metre home with an attached 15-metre storage room, in a 1968 building where the median CasasValue of a home is 70,182 euros, almost half that of the garage's building. In Igualada, another of 52 built metres.
  • The Masquefa home stays open until Thursday 15. The notice does not describe the property or give its floor area: it is worth reading in full the edicto, the official notice of the auction published by the court, before bidding.
  • Three proceedings were closed. A home in La Torre de Claramunt closed on 5 October. On 28 September so did a home in Piera, in a 2001 building with a median CasasValue of 145,736 euros per home, and some garage spaces in Igualada. No new auction opened this week.

A 200,000 euro call for neighbourhood groups closes on 6 November and retail gets its own

Six Catalan grants in three days of publication

Five companies launch on 13,000 euros between them, and the only property firm sets up in Piera

Four companies put in 12,000 of the 13,000 euros
  • Buying, selling and developing property make their debut with a base in Piera. GLUCOMETRO S.L was set up with 3,000 euros of share capital, the money the partners put in when founding the company, which is not its turnover, and appeared in the companies gazette of 1 October. It is the only property firm of the five.
  • Painting, textiles and hospitality choose Igualada. They are MS PINTURA PROFESIONAL S.L, in painting and coatings, XETOTEX S.L, in textile finishing, and JAPO SUMO SOCIEDAD CIVIL, in hospitality. All three start with the same capital as the property firm.
  • Vilanova del Camí gains a seller of sports goods. QR PADEL CLUB IGUALADA S.L, which will sell equipment for any sport, with padel rackets among its products, starts with the lowest capital. Between the five they gather 13,000 euros, and they are one more than the 4 of the previous week.

From 28 September to 5 October, Igualada registered 188,000 euros in three grants issued by the city itself, the fairs accounting for 180,000, and added three new companies. Piera gained a property firm, Vilanova del Camí a sports goods company, and Santa Margarida de Montbui, Masquefa and Igualada hold four live auctions after those in La Torre de Claramunt and Piera closed.
