PALMA ANÁLISIS Y NEGOCIOS SEMANAL

Palma comarca · No. 2 · Wednesday 7 October 2026 · 6-minute read

One rail job of 3,831,593 euros outweighs seven contracts without a firm put together in the city of Palma

The Palma comarca has eight contracts with bidding closed and no company chosen. Of their 7,542,768 euros excluding VAT, 51 per cent sits in the electrical substation at the Son Rullan railway workshops. Builders can still reach three open jobs, together 2,583,496 euros excluding VAT. Of that, 85 per cent belongs to EMAYA, which is refurbishing its Son Pacs vehicle workshop and closes on 19 October. Buyers have two auctions closing today. For food security there is a grants call of 1,340,000 euros.

Son Rullan holds half of 7,542,768 euros across contracts where no company is chosen yet

A single job is worth more than the other seven contracts combined

Son Pacs takes 85 per cent of three jobs where bids are still welcome

The longest deadline goes to the smallest job
  • The Son Espases cell laboratory closes today. The refurbishment of the hospital's Cell Therapy laboratory, out to tender at 344,734 euros excluding VAT, takes bids until 7 October.
  • The big refurbishment is the EMAYA vehicle workshop. EMAYA, the municipal company for water supply, sewerage, waste collection and street cleaning in the city of Palma, takes bids until 19 October to refurbish its Son Pacs workshop. The job, out to tender at 2,198,673 euros excluding VAT, is 85 per cent of the 2,583,496 euros excluding VAT open to bids today in the Palma comarca.
  • Mutua Balear opens a new tender covering its lifts. It is a workplace accident mutual of the Social Security system. It published the notice on 1 October and takes bids until the 21st for a job at its head office out to tender at 40,089 euros excluding VAT.

La Sang now has restorers and EMAYA a builder to replace pipes

Three days for the EMAYA job and 67 for La Sang
  • Two workshops will restore the La Sang pieces. The Consell Insular de Mallorca, the island council in the Balearic Islands, put out to tender the restoration of several pieces of historic and artistic value from the church of La Anunciación, known as La Sang. The contract, tendered at 48,412 euros excluding VAT, is listed as resolved: the tender is over and the contract has been closed, with MITRA RESTAURA and Tracer Restauración y Conservación.
  • A builder will renew mains water and sewer networks. The EMAYA contract, tendered at 182,754 euros excluding VAT, is listed as resolved with PAVIMENTOS Y HORMIGONES CARRERAS. It is a job within an acuerdo marco, or framework agreement, a contract that sets, for several years, the terms of the jobs given to one or more companies.
  • Son Espases has its refurbishment for clinical trials awarded. The job, tendered at 122,502 euros excluding VAT, has been awarded, the step in which the public body chooses the company that will do the work, with no name published yet.

Two auctions end today and one concerns a home of 133 built square metres

From 16 to 133 metres, and the largest is still open today
  • Today bids are still possible on two properties. Seven of the city's eight auctions are court auctions, that is, a public sale ordered by a court, in which anyone can bid on the portal of the Boletín Oficial del Estado, Spain's Official State Gazette. Among them is the home of 133 built square metres, the largest of the five with a measurement in its edicto, the official notice of the auction. No CasasValue is available for its building. The garage with storage room is a tax collection auction, held by a public body and not a court, and it gives no metres.
  • Six more auctions ended on 1 and 5 October. On the 5th bidding ended for a home of 121 built square metres, another of 92 metres whose notice does not make clear of which type, a third with no measurement, a 16 metre garage space and another space. On the 1st, a home of 78 built square metres. CasasValue, the value CASAS.ES estimates for every home, has a median, the value that leaves half the homes above and the other half below, of 452,642 euros in the building of the 78 metre home and of 509,477 euros in that of the 16 metre space. It does not put a price on what is auctioned.

A food security call brings 1,340,000 euros and the Nit de Sant Joan receives 21,500 in municipal money

Of six grant notices, only one is still open to apply for
  • The food security call brings 1,340,000 euros. A convocatoria, or call for applications, is the notice that opens the window to apply for a grant, and this one came out on 6 October in the Base de Datos Nacional de Subvenciones (BDNS), the National Grants Database, the public register where every administration announces its grants. The Dirección General de Planificación y Servicios Sociales, the directorate general for planning and social services, shares out 1,340,000 euros among organisations with no economic activity that provide social services. The window to apply is ten working days, the days left once Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays are excluded, from the day after its publication in the official gazette of the Balearic Islands.
  • The grant for hotel housekeepers entered the BDNS with the deadline already past. The Instituto Balear de Seguridad y Salud Laboral, the Balearic institute for health and safety at work, allocates 578,000 euros to advising workers and companies on the workload of hotel housekeepers. Business organisations and trade unions could apply, and the window ran from 22 July to 4 August.
  • Three more notices carry a named recipient. Palma city council published a subvención nominativa of 21,500 euros to organise the Nit de Sant Joan, a grant earmarked for a named recipient, which nobody else can apply for. Nor can anyone apply for the direct grant for the internationalisation of companies or the grant for the plant pathology congress. The sixth notice is free land transport.
