With two works Alange gathers 602,853 euros before VAT, 86 cents per euro from Mérida city council

Alange, with its auditorium tender already closed and another project accepting companies until the 14th, concentrates over a third of what the town councils of the Mérida comarca have out to tender. Mérida city council stopped receiving proposals on 1 October to enlarge its Teatro María Luisa, a project tendered at 460,383 euros before VAT. La Zarza expects bidders on its road surfaces until the 8th, and the BORME, the gazette of the Companies Register, notes down five fresh companies, three of them in Mérida city, the fourth in Lobón and the fifth in Montijo.

Alange brings together 602,853 euros with its auditorium and the storm repairs, close to the sum tendered by Mérida city council

• The tender for Alange's municipal auditorium is now listed as closed, ten weeks on from its publication. The adaptation of the municipal auditorium, tendered at 535,812 euros excluding VAT, that is, before tax, by Alange town council, was published on 20 July and its bidding period ended on 17 August. The listing was updated on 1 October and marks the tender as resolved, which means the tender is over and the contract has been closed. It does not yet say which company will carry out the works, so local builders and installers have a listing to watch there for subcontracts and supplies.
• Alange also has a second file that admits bidders until the 14th of this month. The repair of municipal infrastructure and facilities damaged by the storms, tendered at 67,041 euros before VAT, remains open to bids on the Plataforma de Contratación, the official portal where public bodies publish their tenders. With it, this town council gathers 602,853 euros in two tenders, more than a third of the total moved by the seven live municipal works in the Mérida comarca. For every euro that Mérida city council tenders in its two projects, Alange tenders 86 cents.

Road surfacing firms can bid until 8 October for 116,478 euros in La Zarza

• Road surfacing firms have four days left to bid in La Zarza. La Zarza town council keeps open the repair of road surfaces and the wearing course on several stretches and streets, tendered at 116,478 euros before VAT. It is a licitación, a public tender, in which companies bid to carry out works, and its deadline is 8 October.
• The tender to enlarge its Teatro María Luisa, in Mérida city, stopped receiving proposals on 1 October. It is no longer possible to bid for the preparation of the land and rear access of the Teatro María Luisa, tendered at 460,383 euros before VAT by Mérida city council. The project extends the theatre with an adjoining building, landscapes the exterior to reach 665 square metres of public space and showcases the archaeological remains. It is the largest municipal project in the comarca still awaiting a company.
• The overpass above the Paseo de los Rosales is awaiting a company. Mérida city council is studying the bids for the repair of the overpass above the Paseo de los Rosales, on the N-630, tendered at 241,674 euros before VAT. Bidding closed on 2 September and the file remains under assessment, meaning the public body is assessing the bids and has not yet chosen a company.
• La Garrovilla and Puebla de la Calzada assess two projects funded by the Diputación. The municipal gym in La Garrovilla, tendered at 109,431 euros before VAT, and the external joinery of Puebla de la Calzada town hall, tendered at 83,449 euros before VAT, closed their bidding on 14 and 22 September. The diputación is the provincial council, which mainly serves small towns. Together with the Los Rosales overpass they add up to 434,554 euros under assessment.

Mérida city council opens a detailed study to objections as bidding ends on an auctioned home of 127 metres

• The auctioned Mérida city home finished its bidding on 30 September. It was the only auction in the comarca, a home of 127 registered metres in the city of Mérida, open to bids since 10 September. It is a subasta judicial, a public sale ordered by a court, held on the Portal de Subastas, the official website of the BOE, Spain's Official State Gazette, where courts and public bodies auction property. Its building has a median CasasValue of 184,518 euros, based on the value CASAS.ES estimates for every home, above the median for the city, as the chart shows.
• An official notice opens the objections stage of a detailed study in the city. The DOE, the Official Gazette of Extremadura, where the regional government publishes its rules and notices, carried on 2 October the initial approval of the Estudio de Detalle, a detailed planning study, for the area the notice calls R1 of UE-OE01 Cross. The notice opens a public consultation, so owners and developers can consult the document and submit objections.
• The regional government shares out 28,000 euros in its 2026 Architecture and Urban Planning Awards. The Dirección General de Urbanismo, the regional planning department, registered on 2 October the Architecture and Urban Planning Awards of Extremadura in the BDNS, the National Grants Database, the public register where every administration announces its grants. Municipalities, small and medium-sized firms, individuals and organisations may enter, and the deadline is one month from the day after publication of the convocatoria, the notice that opens the window to apply for a grant, in the Official Gazette of Extremadura. The same register records a grant from Mérida city council of 7,700 euros to the Asociación Benéfica Campaña del Mochuelo, earmarked for a named recipient, which nobody else can apply for.

The city of Mérida, Lobón and Montijo gain five new companies whose combined capital is 13,000 euros

• MADERAS DEL DESCANSO arrives in Lobón to make furniture and let property. The company, registered on 2 October in the BORME, the Official Gazette of the Companies Register, where new companies must be published by law, starts with 3,000 euros of capital, the money the partners put in when founding the company, not its turnover. It will make and sell furniture and will also hold and let property, a real estate activity of interest to agents and investors in the area.
• EXTREME VENTANAS will fit joinery from Mérida city. Set up with 3,000 euros and published on the same 2 October, it sells and fits joinery items, a trade in demand from refurbishment works. Alongside it in the municipality are REIMAGINA ASESORIAS, a management consultancy with 1,000 euros, and ISAN CUADERNOS Y AGENDAS, a company in the city of Mérida engaged in the retail sale of newspapers and stationery, with 3,000 euros.
• Montijo adds a hairdressing business with 3,000 euros of capital. The fifth company, registered on 1 October, completes a week of five incorporations, from 28 September to 2 October.

EULEN and CUBILLANA appear in three Mérida city council contracts totalling 2,768,221 euros before VAT

• The Hogar de Mayores is the largest municipal contract where a company is named. The building for a day centre, tendered at 1,652,518 euros before VAT by Mérida city council, is listed as resolved with EULEN, a Spanish cleaning, security and maintenance services company. The same company has another design and build contract, for the improvement of a park in the city, tendered at 413,223 euros before VAT, and the company CUBILLANA appears in the Ruta Patrimonial Accesible, an accessible heritage route, tendered at 702,479 euros before VAT. None of them is from this week, but they are the municipal works generating subcontracts today.
• The regional government refurbishes 20 public homes in Montijo. The energy refurbishment contract, resolved with LAMBDA 360 GRADOS EMPRESA CONSTRUCTORA, a limited company in the construction sector, was tendered at 797,218 euros before VAT. That amount includes a lot in another town outside the comarca, so not all of it stays in Montijo.
• Calamonte joins an energy monitoring contract for public housing. The supply and installation of measuring tools, a contract to buy equipment rather than a works contract, was tendered at 113,119 euros before VAT. The company chosen is the limited company VENTUM INNOVACION, DESARROLLO Y COMUNCIACIONES, and the contract also covers the city of Mérida and three towns outside the comarca, which share that amount.

In the Mérida comarca, Alange saw its municipal auditorium tender resolved and keeps another project open for the storm damage, while La Zarza awaits bids to repair road surfaces, Mérida city council stopped receiving proposals to enlarge its Teatro María Luisa, still has the overpass above Los Rosales under assessment, and La Garrovilla and Puebla de la Calzada are reviewing theirs. The BORME recorded five companies across Mérida city, Lobón and Montijo, while the regional government has public housing contracts under way in Montijo and Calamonte. The Architecture and Urban Planning Awards of Extremadura are also open to Aljucén, Arroyo de San Serván, Carmonita, El Carrascalejo, Cordobilla de Lácara, Don Álvaro, Esparragalejo, Mirandilla, La Nava de Santiago, Oliva de Mérida, San Pedro de Mérida, Torremayor, Torremejía, Trujillanos, Valverde de Mérida and Villagonzalo.
