TIERRA DE BARROS ANÁLISIS Y NEGOCIOS SEMANAL

Tierra de Barros comarca · No. 4 · Thursday 22 October 2026 · 5-minute read

The comarca logs 3 property and building start-ups out of 4 and La Parra faces a power-line expropriation

The BORME registered four new Tierra de Barros comarca companies from 14 to 21 October, and bricks and mortar, between housing and building work, account for three. Extremadura's Official Gazette (DOE) on 20 October summoned owners of plots in La Parra and La Morera over a power-line expropriation, and Almendralejo set out 13,000 euros of prizes in the rules of its Cabalgata, the Three Kings parade.

Almendralejo and Santa Marta add three housing and construction companies with 9,000 euros of capital

Three in every four start-ups are bricks and mortar
  • Almendralejo gets a pocket-sized property firm. ACTIVOS INMOBILIARIOS DEL MEDITERRANEO was registered in the Official Gazette of the Companies Register (BORME) on 15 October with 3,000 euros of share capital, the money the partners put in when founding the company, and it is not turnover. It will buy, sell and let property.
  • Another Almendralejo firm will put up buildings. A second Almendralejo company appears in the BORME of 19 October with another 3,000 euros. It will construct buildings and carry out installations.
  • Santa Marta adds refurbishment and fruit. GESTSERV26, registered on 20 October with 3,000 euros, will build homes and carry out refurbishments and installations. In the same town BIOSERVIPLANTEX was born on 14 October, offering farm services and fruit.
  • Housing and building account for three quarters of capital. The four start-ups add up to 12,000 euros of capital. The three in housing and building work, the developer, the builder and the refurbisher, put in 9,000.

Six works totalling 1.31 million still await an award

Three works take almost nine in every ten pending euros
  • The Los Santos de Maimona schools top the pending list. Los Santos de Maimona is studying the bids, with no company chosen yet, for the energy upgrade of its schools. It is the largest pending tender, a public competition in which companies submit bids: 453,285.18 euros before VAT, before tax.
  • Streets in Zafra, a pool in Hornachos. Zafra is assessing the rehabilitation of urban roads, tendered at 343,630.71 euros before VAT. Hornachos closed bids on 6 October for the refurbishment of its municipal swimming pool, tendered at 369,152.29 euros before VAT.
  • Villafranca de los Barros prices a town council plot. On 19 October bids closed to buy plot 9 B on Calle Gravina, tendered at 369,028.24 euros before VAT. It is land for sale, not a works contract.
  • Ramp, gym and switchboard complete the group. Fuente del Maestre is assessing the ramp for its swimming pool, tendered at 77,020.38 euros before VAT, and the separate electricity supply for the Hogar del Pensionista, the pensioners' social centre, at 11,126.69. Palomas closed bids on 30 September for its gym, tendered at 52,946.39.

A summons in La Parra and La Morera and contractors for six works

Los Santos de Maimona holds nearly half the tendered value
  • The Junta summons plot owners in La Parra and La Morera. On 20 October the Official Gazette of Extremadura, where the regional government publishes its rules and notices, carried an expropriation notice, the procedure by which the authorities take private land in the public interest and pay the owner. It summons the owners of plots where a stretch of medium-voltage line will be replaced, to draw up the records prior to occupation, describing each plot before it is taken.
  • Los Santos de Maimona renews its pitch and its road surfaces. The replacement of the artificial turf on the football pitch, tendered at 182,593.43 euros before VAT, goes to SPORT TECHNICAL MULTIJUEGOS. The resurfacing, tendered at 168,533.75 euros before VAT, will be done by GEVORA CONSTRUCCIONES with money from the Plan Contigo of the Badajoz provincial council, which mainly serves small towns.
  • Ribera del Fresno's Meléndez Valdés school gets new windows and insulation. ALAUDAE GRUPO EMPRESARIAL will carry out the windows and insulation works at CEIP Meléndez Valdés in Ribera del Fresno, a state infant and primary school. It is tendered at 139,689.91 euros before VAT with FEDER funds, the European Regional Development Fund.
  • Shade for the Almendralejo fairground. ARCOIRIS TT SUMINISTROS will install the shade sails and cooling system at the fairground, tendered at 120,764.46 euros before VAT. In Puebla de Sancho Pérez, ELYSE ELECTRIFICACIONES won the street lighting on the road to the cemetery and the electrical installation at the Belén chapel site.

Almendralejo puts 13,000 euros into Cabalgata prizes

Six days between the Junta decree and its official registration
  • Prizes for the Almendralejo Three Kings parade. Almendralejo's Junta de Gobierno Local, the body made up of the mayor and some of the councillors, approved on 14 October the rules for the prizes of the Cabalgata de Reyes Magos 2027, worth 13,000 euros. According to the National Grants Database (BDNS), individuals, associations and SMEs may enter, with 10 working days, the days left once Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays are excluded, from the publication of the call, the notice that opens the window to apply for a grant.
  • Regional grants for municipal buildings. The Junta de Extremadura, the regional government of Extremadura, approved on 13 October a decree calling grants for municipalities and entidades locales menores to equip and improve municipal buildings. These are separate villages within a municipality that have their own local administration. According to the BDNS, applications open the day after publication in the DOE.
  • Small towns, painted walls. The Badajoz provincial council published the call for the Plan de Murales Municipales for municipalities of fewer than 20,000 inhabitants and entidades locales menores in the province.
  • Earmarked funds for Almendralejo and Los Santos de Maimona. The mayor of Almendralejo approved on 14 October a subvención nominativa for the Asociación Empresarial Centro de Almendralejo, a grant earmarked for a named recipient, which nobody else can apply for. The Junta also registered money for the video game festival and nursery education for ages 0 to 3 in Almendralejo and for residential places in Los Santos de Maimona.

CASAS.ES looked through the BORME, public procurement, grants and Extremadura's Official Gazette for 14 to 21 October in the 23 Tierra de Barros comarca municipalities. Almendralejo gained one property firm and one builder, and the council there set the Cabalgata rules. Its mayor approved a grant with its beneficiary named in advance, the Asociación Empresarial Centro de Almendralejo, and the Junta registered funds for its video game festival and its nursery school. Santa Marta gained a home refurbishment firm and a farming one. Zafra, Los Santos de Maimona and Fuente del Maestre weigh offers, Palomas and Hornachos are without a contractor, and in Villafranca de los Barros the window to buy a municipal plot has closed. Almendralejo, Ribera del Fresno, Puebla de Sancho Pérez and Los Santos de Maimona already have six works awarded, and Los Santos de Maimona receives funds for residential places. In La Parra and La Morera, the Junta summons plot owners over a power-line expropriation. The town of Feria, Aceuchal, La Lapa, Villalba de los Barros, Alconera, Puebla del Prior, Hinojosa del Valle, Llera, Puebla de la Reina, Solana de los Barros and Salvatierra de los Barros went that week with nothing new from the mercantile registry, tender portal or DOE. Each of their town halls remains free to request the regional money to fit out council buildings and for the provincial murals programme.
