The airport awards a Benlloc plot for testing rocket engines, tendered at 142,146 euros before VAT
Castellón Airport chose companies to prepare a rocket engine test plot in Benlloc, a town of the Plana Alta comarca, and to put up a building for industry. The Generalitat, the Valencian regional government, is also offering grants to repair lifts and facades damaged in 2024.
Benlloc and Castelló de la Plana add four awarded works to the six municipal ones

- Benlloc will have land for testing rocket engines. The Board of Directors of Castellón Airport awarded the preparation of the plot set aside as a rocket engine test area, tendered at 142,146.21 euros before VAT. An award is the step in which the public body chooses the company that will do the work, and a tender is a public contest in which companies bid to carry out works or a service. The contract goes to the builder behind the Plaza de la Constitución works in Cabanes. The UTE Proyectos y Gestiones Azahar Manterrain, a temporary joint venture of several companies bidding together for a contract, takes on the design and construction of a building for industrial use, tendered at 251,090 euros. Both files, in Benlloc, changed status this week on the Plataforma de Contratación, the official portal where public bodies publish their tenders for works and services.
- The provincial hospital renovates toilets and a laboratory. In Castelló de la Plana, the Consorcio Hospitalario Provincial, the consortium that runs the provincial hospital, awarded ELECNOR Servicios y Proyectos, a single-shareholder public limited company, the renovation of three toilets at the hospital, tendered at 29,981.19 euros. It had already settled in favour of EULEN, a Spanish cleaning, security and maintenance services company, the refurbishment of the haematology laboratory, tendered at 129,400.60 euros.
- Torreblanca enlarges its graveyard again. The Junta de Gobierno of Torreblanca, the body made up of the mayor and some of the councillors, resolved the fifth phase of the cemetery extension, tendered at 130,578.51 euros. Resolved means the tender is over and the contract has been closed. The works are in the hands of Ravi Obras, Transportes y Excavaciones.
- And it already had two more jobs on the coast. Earlier it had won the regeneration of the green area next to Calle Carles Salvador, in Torreblanca, tendered at 227,298.98 euros, and the preparation of the site for the future school number 3 in Orpesa, for 243,762.70 euros. The three together add up to 601,640.19 euros, 41.7 per cent of the amount tendered across the ten contracts with a contractor in the Plana Alta comarca.
- Cabanes shares out three contracts among three companies. The mayor's office of Cabanes this week awarded the air conditioning of the La Ribera sociocultural centre, tendered at 83,007.19 euros, to Insis Global 2008. The Torre la Sal tourist information office, 109,973.28 euros, already had a contractor, Microarquitectura, as did the renovation of the Plaza de la Constitución, 95,200 euros.
Vall d'Alba's digital water project, from 2024, remains under assessment alongside four others

- Vall d'Alba moves a file from 2024. The digitalisation of Vall d'Alba's integrated water cycle, tendered at 160,540.65 euros before VAT, is a file from 2024. This week it changed status on the Plataforma and remains under assessment, meaning the public body is assessing the bids and has not yet chosen a company.
- Cabanes compares bids for a padel court in La Ribera. Cabanes is weighing the bids for the padel court and the upgrade of the La Ribera sports area, tendered at 112,611.18 euros, and for the maintenance of the municipal swimming pools, 22,500 euros.
- A chamber for plenary sessions and a village street, not yet decided. Still under assessment are the refurbishment of the council chamber in the Casa de Cultura of Benicàssim, tendered at 45,323.14 euros, and the paving and renewal of the water and sewerage networks of Carrer Joc de la Tella, in Vilanova d'Alcolea, for 59,694.41 euros.
Benicàssim and Orpesa saw bidding end for homes of 140 and 64 built square metres

- A large bungalow in Benicàssim, at court auction. The bungalow of 139.96 built square metres in Benicàssim went to court auction, a public sale ordered by a court, and bidding closed on 16 October on the Portal de Subastas, the official website of the BOE, Spain's Official State Gazette, where court auctions are published. The median CasasValue of its building, the value CASAS.ES estimates for every home, is 526,707 euros.

Who, how much and until when, in the Base de Datos Nacional de Subvenciones, the official register of all public grants.
- Companies in burnt areas can apply for subsidised loans. The Institut Valencià de Finances, the Valencian regional government's public lender, which runs its financial policy, opened on 16 October subsidised loans to revive the areas affected by the 2026 forest fires.
- Torreblanca gets funding for its cemetery chapel. The Diputación de Castellón, the provincial council, signed a convenio with Torreblanca Town Council to restore the paintings of the cemetery chapel, an agreement through which the public body funds a specific organisation. Turisme Comunitat Valenciana is also funding the promotion of the hospitality businesses of Castellón province.
