A 3.7 million Christmas lighting contract in Mijas outweighs the other nine published tenders in the comarca
In Málaga's Costa del Sol comarca, a single Mijas contract, the 3.7 million Christmas lighting installation, outweighs the nine remaining published tenders combined. Marbella is selling municipal land in Artola Alta and hosts 17 of the 37 newly created property and construction companies. There are 28 works worth 15.5 million under assessment and Mijas opens a call for 600,000 euros in grants.
Marbella sells land in Artola Alta for 2.8 million and Casares processes the lease of five homes

- Artola Alta changes hands. Marbella city council awarded plot 1 of Artola Alta, tendered at 2,804,328 euros before VAT, that is, before taxes, to SBS HIGHLAND SIERRA BLANCA SL, and a single lot of six municipal plots, tendered at 1,800,711 euros before VAT, to MARBELLA NOT BORING COMPANY SL.
- Benalmádena sold a plot and Fuengirola commissioned public housing. Benalmádena awarded plot R-11 of Santángelo Oeste, tendered at 4,468,223 euros before VAT, and Fuengirola commissioned the UTE URBASUR-MARVEL, a temporary joint venture, several companies that team up to bid together for a contract, for the design and construction of municipal support housing in calle Oropéndola, tendered at 10,859,504 euros before VAT.
- Casares puts a lease in El Chaparral out to tender. Casares town council is tendering the lease of five homes in El Chaparral, in Puerto de la Cruz, with a deadline of 20 October on the Plataforma de Contratación, the official portal where public bodies publish their tenders.
- Four municipalities move land plans forward. The Boletín Oficial de la Provincia de Málaga, the provincial official gazette, published on 8 and 9 October three planning procedures in Fuengirola (the first, the second and the third), the El Pinar development works project in Marbella, plot 1 of the Complejo Los Pintores in Benalmádena and a special employment and training centre with a plant nursery on rural land in Manilva.
Manilva, Estepona, Benalmádena and Torremolinos await bids for five works until the 28th

- A single Mijas contract outweighs the rest. The largest published tender, the hire, installation and removal of the Mijas Christmas lights, at 3,696,687 euros before VAT, on its own exceeds the other nine tenders in the comarca, which add up to 3,242,564 euros. Its deadline closed on 13 October, as did those for the Benalmádena bus bays and the resurfacing of calle Las Margaritas in Benahavís. Before them, bidding closed for the Nueva Andalucía diversity centre in Marbella and calle Mesurado in Estepona.
- Torremolinos opens its tree work to bids. Torremolinos town council this week published the felling, cutting and transplanting of trees with replacement of urban infrastructure, in six lots, for 82,237 euros. Bids are accepted until 26 October.

Marbella accounts for 17 of the comarca's 37 new building and rental firms

- Construction and real estate carry weight in the register. The Boletín Oficial del Registro Mercantil (BORME), the official gazette where newly founded companies are published, registered on 7, 8 and 14 October 83 companies with their registered address in the Costa del Sol comarca, and 37 of them belong to the property or construction sector, 44.6 per cent.
- Benalmádena brings the sector's biggest bet. ONIRO ANDALUCIA SL is born in Benalmádena with 700,000 euros of share capital, the money the partners put in, to rent, develop and build. That is 65.5 per cent of the 1,068,220 euros raised by the 37 in the sector.
- A one million holding company arrives in Benahavís. MM CAPITAL & GESTION SL is incorporated in Benahavís with 1,000,000 euros as a holding, a company whose business is owning shares in other companies. The 83 companies total 2,555,395 euros, with 30 fewer registrations than the 113 of the previous week.
