A La Bisbal del Penedès firm starts with 1 euro of capital, one of the five the comarca gained this week

The BORME of Thursday 8 October records five companies founded within the Baix Penedès comarca, which together hold 12,001 euros of capital. Three are based in Calafell and put in 3,000 euros each, while a programming studio in La Bisbal del Penedès starts out with 1 euro. Eleven grants earmarked for named recipients go to Calafell, Bellvei, Albinyana and Banyeres del Penedès, and the Generalitat launches two funding lines for SMEs.

Calafell adds 9,000 euros in a trio of twin firms from the BORME

Four of the five new firms put in €3,000 and one puts in €1

Calafell registers three twin companies on 8 October. The Official Gazette of the Companies Register (BORME), the daily bulletin that records every company that is born, lists on 8 October five incorporations registered in the Baix Penedès comarca. Three are in Calafell and share, almost word for word, their objeto social, the activities the company states in its articles that it will carry on, in this case intermediation in the trade of miscellaneous products, marketing, distribution, import and export. They are Informática Preventiva Caramañola, Aelthirien Analítica de Datos y Big Data and Combustibles Shirokuro, with 3,000 euros of capital each. Together they add up to 9,000 euros, 75 per cent of the 12,001 euros the five gather in share capital, the money the partners put in when founding the company and not what they invoice.
El Vendrell gains a firm that combines kitchen, shop and hardware store. Nou La Familia 66 is born in El Vendrell with 3,000 euros and a corporate purpose that ranges from restaurants to retail, with hardware and building materials among its activities, as stated in the BORME entry.
In La Bisbal del Penedès, a programming studio starts out with 1 euro of capital. One-of-Us Studio is set up in La Bisbal del Penedès for IT consultancy and programming with 1 euro of capital, as the BORME of 8 October records. None of the five is in the business of developing or constructing buildings.

Calafell takes seven of the eleven grants

Saifores will have its green space fitted out with Generalitat money. The Department of the Presidency published in the National Grants Database (BDNS), the public register of all grants, a subvención nominativa to Banyeres del Penedès city council, a grant earmarked for a named recipient, which nobody else can apply for, to fit out the green space in the village of Saifores.
Calafell takes seven of the eleven grants with its local organisations. Calafell city council published seven agreements for 2026, each agreement a deal through which the council funds a specific organisation, among them those with the Asociación de Vecinos de Valldemar and the Asociación de Vecinos de la Montaña de Mas Romeu, as well as Club Patí Calafell, the Asociación La Xarxa, a fibromyalgia association in the municipality, the Asociación de Jubilados y Pensionistas de Calafell Pueblo and the Llar del Pescador Jubilat. This is money that goes to those organisations, not a grant anyone can apply for.
Albinyana and Bellvei back their local organisations. Albinyana published a subvención nominativa to the ADF Clot de Bou, an agrupación de defensa forestal or forest defence group, a not-for-profit body that prevents and fights forest fires, and Bellvei two agreements, one with the Asociación Española contra el Cáncer and another with a local association.
Bidding has closed on the 142 metre home in Calafell. The only court auction in the comarca, a public sale ordered by a court, was a home of 142 built square metres in Calafell. Bidding was open from 18 September to 8 October and is now closed, so the comarca currently has no open auctions.

Two Catalan schemes for companies share out 250,000 euros for equality and 19.3 million to fund training contracts

Only one in five grants accepts applications

A business with fewer than 50 staff can get paid for drawing up its equality document. The Department of Equality and Feminism published in the BDNS on 9 October the call for grants to draw up equality plans, the notice that opens the window to apply for a grant, in companies and organisations with fewer than 50 people. Those plans are the set of measures a company adopts after an assessment to achieve equal treatment of women and men. It shares out 250,000 euros across Catalonia among SMEs and self-employed professionals with economic activity, and the application window, of 20 calendar days, starts the day after its publication in the official gazette of the Generalitat, according to its official record.
The SOC shares out 19.3 million for work experience training contracts. The SOC, the Catalan Public Employment Service, published in the BDNS on 9 October the 2026 call for the training contract for gaining professional experience, the one signed with someone who finished their studies three years ago or less so that they can practise their trade. It has 19.3 million euros for the whole of Catalonia, it is open to SMEs, self-employed professionals with economic activity and organisations without economic activity, and the application window, of 10 working days, the days left once Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays are excluded, starts the day after its publication in the official gazette of the Generalitat, according to its official record.
Nine of the 43 Catalan grant notices published from 7 to 14 October accept applications. Of the 43 Catalan or municipal grant notices published in the BDNS from 7 to 14 October, not all intended for the Baix Penedès comarca, only 9 can be applied for. Among them are the one for traditional culture facilities, one and another for lumpy skin disease, a viral disease of cattle that the European Union requires to be controlled, and one for bees and rabbits.

Cunit, L'Arboç, Bonastre, Llorenç del Penedès, Masllorenç, El Montmell, Sant Jaume dels Domenys and Santa Oliva had no local item between 7 and 14 October, although Generalitat grants for SMEs are also valid there. These are the 14 municipalities of the comarca: Albinyana, L'Arboç, Banyeres del Penedès, Bellvei, La Bisbal del Penedès, Bonastre, Calafell, Cunit, Llorenç del Penedès, Masllorenç, El Montmell, Sant Jaume dels Domenys, Santa Oliva and El Vendrell.
