Gandia, Tavernes and l'Alqueria hold 5.66 million of the 7.58 million awaiting a contractor
Sixteen public contracts from the La Safor comarca, totalling 7.58 million euros excluding tax, sit unawarded, with 74.7 per cent tied up in just three, the Gandia Day Centre serving people with intellectual disabilities, the future social and sports hall in l'Alqueria de la Comtessa and the coastal sewer in Tavernes de la Valldigna. Another half-dozen calls, which builders can still answer, come to 1.43 million.
Six protected flats for Gandia, and 1.43 million across six live tenders

- Gandia takes the first step towards six affordable flats. Gandia City Council published on 19 October on the Plataforma de Contratación, the official portal where public bodies publish their tenders for works and services, the contract to draw up the design for a block of six publicly protected homes, with a capped sale or rent, on a plot on avenida de Benirredrà. It is the commission for the design, not the building work, put out to tender for 17,495.18 euros before VAT, that is, before taxes. Architecture practices have until 4 November.
- The Mancomunitat de la Safor fits out premises for families. The Mancomunitat de Municipis de la Safor, which pools services for the town councils of the comarca, put out to tender on 15 October, a public tender in which companies submit bids, the fitting out of premises on calle Pintor Sorolla in Gandia as a family meeting point, for 255,003 euros before VAT. Builders can bid until 5 November.
- Oliva, Xeresa, Xeraco and Gandia keep their calls for bids open. Still open is the renewal of drinking water and accessibility in Oliva, put out to tender for 564,012.40 euros before VAT, as is the storehouse for the Xeresa works crew, for 166,600 euros. Closing earlier are the Xeraco cycle and footpath, for 378,532.76 euros and the irrigation of the flood pond in the Beniopa ravine, in Gandia, for 45,356.85 euros. Together the six tenders add up to 1.43 million.
Of comarca contracts resolved from 15 to 22 October, Tavernes de la Valldigna holds 55.7 per cent

- Streets, market and health centre change phase in Tavernes. The six contracts in the comarca recorded as resolved this week add up to 1,062,592 euros put out to tender before VAT, and 591,676 of them are in Tavernes de la Valldigna. The redevelopment of calle Gebalcobra, calle Vadell and calle Garbí, put out to tender for 413,223.14 euros, is recorded as resolved, which means the tender is over and the contract has been closed, although no company has been published. The completion of the works on the Mercado Municipal, put out to tender for 124,733.54 euros, has already gone to Gruexma and Brinelec Instalaciones, and the roof of the health centre, put out to tender for 53,719.01 euros by the Gandia Health Department, to Serveo Servicios.
- Two Gandia industrial estates get their contractors. Pavasal, a construction company, has the upgrade of the Alcodar industrial estate, put out to tender for 230,555.53 euros before VAT, and Valdonaire Soluciones Técnicas that of the Rajolar estate, put out to tender for 91,600.75 euros. Both are funded by IVACE, the Valencian Institute for Business Competitiveness, the Generalitat body that supports companies, and together they add up to 322,156 euros.
- The Parpalló-Borrell centre finds someone to fit it out. Decoración y Paisaje wins the museum design for the Centro de Interpretación Parpalló-Borrell in Gandia, a contract for supplies, services and works put out to tender for 148,760.33 euros before VAT.
Gandia leads the sixteen contracts, worth 7.58 million, that are yet to go to a company

- Three projects soak up 74.7 per cent of pending work. Sixteen works and services contracts in the comarca are being studied or have already closed for bids, worth 7.58 million before VAT, and 74.7 per cent is concentrated in three. Top of the list is the Gandia Day Centre serving people with intellectual disabilities, put out to tender for 2.89 million, followed by the beach sewer in Tavernes de la Valldigna and the municipal storehouse that l'Alqueria de la Comtessa will turn into a social and sports hall, together with the redevelopment of calle Sant Antoni, for 787,015.47 euros, which is being assessed. Gandia accounts for 41.6 per cent of the total, with the renaturalised playground of CEIP Montdúver, a state infant and primary school, for 165,289 euros, and the upgrade of the Benieto industrial estate, for 97,574 euros.
- The Tavernes coastal sewer is being assessed. The beach sewer in Tavernes de la Valldigna and its pumping station on avenida Marina, put out to tender for 1.99 million before VAT, closed for bids on 14 October and is being assessed, which means the public body is studying the bids and has not yet chosen a company.
The Generalitat puts 8 million into facades and lifts after the floods, and Tavernes and Xeraco open their own grants

- Eight million to give buildings back what the floods took away. The Conselleria de Vivienda, the regional housing department, is offering 4 million to clean and repair facades damaged by the 2024 DANA, a low-pressure system high in the atmosphere that brought the floods of October 2024, and another 4 million to repair or replace lifts. Applications can be made for two months from publication.
- The IVF lends on better terms after the wildfires. The Institut Valencià de Finances, the Generalitat's public lender, which runs its financial policy, is offering subsidised loans for the areas hit by the 2026 forest fires, within the limit of de minimis aid, small grants subject to a per-company ceiling set by the European Union.
